This will be your very first scan! This is to confirm that you are pregnant as well as to check viability
of the pregnancy. You will hear the heartbeat for the very first time – best sound ever! We will also
be able to establish your due date and if you might be having twins.

At 12 weeks your baby is fully formed, so you will see your baby move the arms and legs and might
even suck his thumb already!
This scan is one of your most important diagnostic scans. This is when we will make sure that your
baby does not have an increased risk for chromosomal and heart abnormalities.

14 to 19 weeks
From 13 -14 weeks we will be able to accurately determine your baby’s gender.
Your baby will also be checked to confirm the structure and growth is normal.

detailed anatomy scan
20 to 24 weeks
This is your most important scan diagnostically. We will check your baby’s structure from head to
toes. Even inside the brain and heart! Different detail can be observed and assessed at different
gestational ages. This is the stage where the most structures can be assessed.

25 to 34 weeks
Your baby has now had time to put on enough fatty tissue to develop facial features! On this scan
you will be able to see what your little person, keeping you awake at night, looks like.

36 to 40 weeks
Your time is running out and the due date is soon! From 35 weeks we can make sure that everything
will be in order for your big day. It is important to check the size and position of your baby, as well
as cord and placental position.

When you make a booking, our system will automatically send a Booking Confirmation Email.
Please make sure you get this confirmation as there is important information about your scan that you will need to know. If you are on a medical aid and would require an invoice to submit to the medical aid for a claim, please reply on the confirmation email with your medical aid details as requested.
Important! We do not accept medical aid for payment of scans. You will have to pay for your scan on the day of your appointment and claim back. You will receive an invoice via email after your scan which you can use to submit to your medical aid.
